Our guest was Joe. Welcome all!

Tanya reminded everybody: VEE-DUB Fest is May 26, 24 days away. We are cutting it short. So far we have a few sponsors and one $500 sponsor. Volkswagen of Fort Myers will give us stuff for the goodie bags, commercial air time on the radio, Needful Things will give us $500 in merchandise. We received $250 cash donation from Foreign Policy, Tanya's friends in Georgia. Tupy's Tree Service from Minnesota is giving us $250. North American Van Lines is loaning us their stage trailer. Fisher Buggies will give us $100, Burkett's will give us $100, Partco Automotive will give us $500 in parts, Martin's Garage gave us $100. Robert contacted a company that sells mulch, his daughter likes VWs, why not ask them to donate mulch? Due date for sponsor's name on t-shirt is May 10.

Robert knows a guy who does outer coating. Robert went there today to collect something and called several times. He will ask him for a donation of $100 cash. Or maybe a gift certificate of $250 to powder coat the engine of a beetle. Barbara talked to the Inside Restaurant in Lehigh Acres. Robert said to all, first try to get a cash donation, and if that's not possible, ask for merchandise. Marvin Ruch purchased the AAMCO Transmissions shop. Ask him to be sponsoring the show.

Tanya listed all the sponsors who gave us merchandise.

Richard will stop by Raulerson's for a donation.

Charlie mentioned that someone should contact the S.W. Florida Auto Auction to request a sponsorship.

Fischer Buggies in Tampa has a show tomorrow and free food.

For classified ads, contact Tanya. She made changes on our website, we now have a guest book, also please sign our guest book.

Robert sold the tickets for the 50/50. He collected $91, given away were $30 and $15.

Mike's Tech Corner:
Today's topic was the Gas Heater - especially for Florida in the summer!
He reported, it brings the resale of your vehicle up quite a bit. Heater used is $500, no small potatoes! It is essentially a big fan, it blows gasoline in, a sparkplug lights it. It has one setting and that is really hot. Thermostat is there, but does not work. The bus and type II are very similar. The gas heater is in close proximity to the gas tank. (That's a comforting thought!) It has an exhaust pipe, like the exhaust pipe on a motor. It also has a little gas tank and an electric fuel pump. There are manuals obtainable, but they are all in German. There's available a Bentley manual in English for the bus. There is no compression here, it just sucks in the air, lights the gasoline and is always on. A discussion on the use of the heater on the different models ensued between the club members.

Last year we leased tables, chairs and tents from Taylor Rentals. Richard asked all members for tables and chairs. Don suggested to ask Chrissy. Jim Burkholder from Abate Motorcycle Club is loaning us a 10x20 tent and 2 small fold-up tents. He wants to know what time to be there on 5/26. They will be there Sunday morning 7 AM and set them up. Robert has a small pop-up tent. Richard has 2 pop-up tents for loan from Newton Display. Ralph Shepherd has 1 table 6 1/2 ft. long.

White rolled plastic - Barbara will pick up this item at Sam's.

Tanya offered the club license plate, 1 was purchased.

Tanya started a sign-up sheet for members to help on day of show. We need all the help we can get.

At present, we have 42 paid members.

No further business was put on the table. Tanya closed the meeting.
